A B O U T

Welcome to Recherché Bijou. My name is Alissa Taylor, the creator and owner of this shop. I am a mom, homemaker, talented, love crafts, fun, and driven. I am blessed to have a husband that takes an interest in my hobbies and is very talented. Occasionally he helps design and make jewelry pieces with me.

Recherché Bijou jewelry slowly began forming in 2015; inspired by other makers and their high quality materials. I have designed and made jewelry since a young age and started selling in 2009. I currently have another shop called LissaBsBoutique on Etsy. I really wanted this shop to be filled with higher quality materials and natural stones, 14k gold filled, sterling silver etc.

I love learning different ways to create jewelry and look forward to building this shop with customers that appreciate handmade items or want to give a unique gift to a loved one. Every creation is important to me and I will only sell something that I am in love with, hoping you will love it too.

I have had a handful of people ask me "What does Recherché Bijou mean and how do you say it?" I know I could have picked an easier name to say rather then something in french but English just couldn't satisfy the description of my jewelry with out it sounding so dull. And let's be honest you can just call it R.B.

Recherché is the French word for rare and exotic. When I was trying to decide on a name for my jewelry business I looked long and hard for pretty words and came across this one that I felt described my jewelry. Now...how on earth do you say Recherché? Resh-er-shay. Not too hard right?

Bijou is also a french word and means small, elegant, jewel or trinket. Put these words together and you have a beautiful name! Bijou is pronounced Be-joo.
